[Description]
普通のコーデュロイ。ウールとカシミヤの。

綿やポリエステルでは無く、ウールとカシミヤという珍しい混率のコーデュロイ。
軽く、肌触りがしなやか、きめ細かく繊細な起毛具合から来る上品さが特徴です。
さらにこれは後染めではなく、先染めの生地でタテ糸とヨコ糸の色が異なり、奥行きのある見え方なことも特徴です。例えばmidnightはblackとblueの組み合わせなので、目と脳がnavyという認識をします。

普遍的なコーデュロイの見た目ながら、一般的に広まるコーデュロイに比べると素材も染色方法もかなりマニアックで経済合理性を考えるとほぼ流通しないであろうニッチさが興味深いと感じitochiでは採用いたしました。

尾州で織った生機を遠州に輸送し、カッチング(ヨコ糸ループを切る工程)、仕上げ工程をするなど、日本国内産地を2ヶ所跨くという手間のかかる生地なのですが、現在ではカッチングができる工場が日本国内で遠州の数社のみに限られるためそうするしかありません。
さらにこの生地において私達が満足できるクオリティにできる工場は1社に絞られます。
ですが、残念なことにその工場は実質稼働が止まってしまっているという状態だと関係者の方から伝え聞いています。

国産コーデュロイは絶滅危惧種1A類と言えるかもしれません。

素材の良さにフォーカスするためパターンはシンプル。
コーデュロイの縦畝に合わせ地の目を通すため脇線が直線のジーンズ型を採用。
